Since every good revolution starts with one, why not me?
Hello and welcome to the Professor Platon Substack! This is a concentration of years of working in the realms of essays and a distillation of my desire to improve my use of the written word and share those efforts with a greater public. Before this I had a rather old Blogspot that limped along, unsure of what it was nor what it wanted to be. I am starting this Substack because I wanted to switch over to a platform that is a bit more dynamic and that allows me to add and detract what I wish. There is a potent energy with not only posting new things, but also having readers such as yourself receive an email and be able to read my musings right from their inboxes.
The space I am building and strengthening is one of genuine, Orthodox belief, ponderings, and conversation. I think it is important that I speak out with the power of an impossibly ancient Word, allowing it space to move and grow in myself and in others. This is, of course, not a new space nor a new idea, but I hope that I can add a distinct flavor to the space of Orthodox essay writing that improves the overall genre.
Included in a subscription to the Professor Platon Substack are my musings once a week, and the ability to mold what goes on in my writings each week. I will be looking forward to sharing with you my own thoughts on things and in turn receiving your thoughts on similar topics. I am always open to new ideas, books and people to enter into a conversation with and hope this Substack will be a mode of doing so.
